Lagniappe

lagniappe (/ˈlænjæp/ LAN-yap/lænˈjæp/ lan-YAP) is "a small gift given to a customer by a merchant at the time of a purchase" (such as a 13th doughnut on purchase of a dozen), or more broadly, "something given or obtained gratuitously or by way of good measure." It can be used more generally as meaning any extra or unexpected benefit. --Wikipedia

I was aiming to introduce this feature (more often known as `Tips') on New Year's Day as a means of engaging support from my valued readers at a standard five bucks. However, from this moment through the month of January any incoming funds will be redirected to the New Orleans New Year's Day Tragedy Fund, as endorsed by Saints star Cam Newton and others: https://2014givenow.kimbia.com/nola-newyearsday-tragedy-fund

The above link also enables greater donations; the fund funnels 100% of receipts to local families that were affected.

Please see my tribute to NOLA elsewhere on this site.
